The Institute of Genetics and Molecular and Cellular Biology is one of the leading European centers of biomedical research. It is devoted to the study of higher eukaryotic genomes and to the control of genetic expression as well as the analysis of the function of genes and proteins. This knowledge is applied to studies of human pathologies. We are recruiting a Bioinformatician in cancer research for a fixed term contract In the Gronemeyer laboratory.
Activity
The successful candidate will study the epinogemics of breast cancer and reference cancer models.
He/she will :
-Be involved in the analysis and integration of genome-wide biological data
-Develop bioinformatics tools and establish data analysis pipelines for High-Throughput Sequencing data (ChIP Seq & RNA Seq)
The project will be done in collaboration with a major genome center in the world.
Profile
The candidate should have a degree in computational biology, bioinformatics, statistics or equivalent level of knowledge. He/she must be highly motivated to work on biological questions and flexible to interact with the various members of the laboratory.
Required skills and abilities
-Comfortable working experience in UNIX/Linux environments
-Excellent programming skills (R, Perl, Python, etc.)
-Experience in cloud computing would be considered as an advantage
-Good understanding and speaking in English (operating language is English)?
