Postdoctoral Position - Computational Biology - Cancer Epigenetics

A 3-year postdoctoral position in computational biology is available to work on an exciting interdisciplinary project on cancer epigenetics in Strasbourg, France. The successful candidate will join the computational teams of Anaïs Bardet (within the experimental group of Michaël Weber, BSC) and the theoretical group of Nacho Molina (IGBMC). The position will be a shared appointment between the BSC and the IGBMC institutes.
We study the epigenetic regulation of cell identity using both computational and experimental approaches. The project will focus on the development of computational methods relying on the integration of large genomic datasets to study the role of transcription factors in establishing aberrant DNA methylation in cancer. Computational predictions will then be validated experimentally within our laboratory and will be used as input to infer transcription factor networks underlying cancer states.
We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated candidate with a PhD in bioinformatics or related discipline and a good publication record. Experience in analysing high-throughput genomic datasets and strong programming skills in Unix and R with a good understanding of molecular biology and genomics techniques is expected. Knowledge on statistical analysis, mathematical modeling or machine learning will be a plus. Good communication skills and ability to work in an interdisciplinary team are essential.

Our laboratory is located on the Strasbourg University campus, which is one of the best scientific centers in France, possess a highly stimulating multidisciplinary research environment with several world leading research institutes and cutting edge technological platforms. French is not mandatory as our working language is English, including during weekly lab meetings and journal clubs.
